Our students will have the pleasure of welcoming their latest guest speaker, Koen Van Troos, Head of PR & Advocacy at Fairtrade Belgium, as part of their bachelor programme’s “Global Concerns” module. In his current position, Koen aims to advocate for EU and Belgian policies and programs that contribute to living incomes for smallholder producers, as well as living wages for workers in international value chains. With his background in political sciences, Koen has thorough experience in advocacy focusing on issues such as food security, rural development, global value chains, and fair trade. His mission aligns perfectly with one of UBI’s important guiding pillars: good citizenship.
