AI enhanced Learning

UBI's AI enhanced Learning

orange vector

At UBI BUSINESS SCHOOL, we take a distinct approach to AI. For us, the use of the technology, particularly AI, is here to support, improve and get better outcomes by helping humans to improve their capabilities, both knowledge and skills. In other words, to strengthen human capability, not to replace it.

Over two years of research with students, lecturers, and employers revealed a clear concern: GenAI is widely used, but often poorly understood. This skills gap drives avoidable mistakes, inefficiencies, and higher organisational costs.

“Knowing without understanding”

Copy‑pasting GenAI outputs produces polished but shallow work—coherent on the surface, lacking depth, analysis, and judgement. (Nosta, 2025)

Stakeholders also warned of “cognitive offloading” (the Google effect), where outsourcing thinking weakens memory, reasoning, and problem‑solving. UBI’s Enhanced Learning is designed to counter these risks and rebuild the human capabilities organisations need most.

Less reasoning over time: Overusing AI for writing and analysis risks outsourcing thinking and gradually weakening human reasoning. (Financial Times Editorial Board, 2025)
AI-enhanced learning @ UBI – Human AI First

The main objective of AI-enhanced learning is for participants in UBI’s programmes to be able to:

Acquire knowledge about GenAI, how it works, and its limitations.

Apply this knowledge to analyse and assess the outputs of GenAI.

Construct new understandings on uses and applications of GenAI.

Recognise the ethical implications and boundaries of GenAI use.

A shift to Human AI

The main objective of AI-enhanced learning is for participants in UBI’s programmes to be able to:

The barrier has shifted. Tasks that once required years of expertise are now within everyone’s reach — GenAI has closed the technical gap.

But the human one has risen. Judgment, critical thinking and intentional use of technology are now the true competitive edge.

Technology as a means for value

The goal is to use technology not as a shortcut, but as a means to create more value, make better contributions and enhance productivity through a Human AI First approach. But yet the real value still depends on human judgment, critical thinking and intentional use of the technology.

Grounded in Global Standards. Built for What's Next

EU & OECD aligned. UBI’s AI literacy approach is built on the European Commission and OECD framework — combining technical understanding, durable skills and future-ready attitudes to work with AI confidently and responsibly. This enables students learn to engage with, create using, manage and design AI — while critically evaluating its benefits, risks and ethical implications across four core domains.

Meet Alexandr.IA: UBI’s learning management system
  • Alexandria was co‑developed by Publicis to respond to market demands to teach professional on the professional use of AI.
  • It received a Highly Commended distinction at the AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2026.
Alexandr.IA: The AI that won’t do your thinking for you

Unlike other alternatives, Alexandr.ia is designed not to deliver final answers. Instead, it’s engineered to:

  • Guide students step‑by‑step through a topic or task
  • Challenge them to push further and reach solutions independently
  • Support research and set‑up work, so learners can focus on deeper
    reasoning
Beyond Tools: The Mindset and Skills Employers request
  • Think, judge, lead. Students develop the critical thinking, analytical rigour and confident decision-making that technology amplifies but cannot replace.
  • Ready to work, ready to adapt. students graduate fluent in the tools and mindsets that define modern workplaces.
  • A real edge in a competitive market. Students build capabilities that translate directly into employability and career growth.
For Faculty means Better Design and Deeper Impact
  • Design with precision. Sharper activities, clearer outcomes and consistent assessment standards
  • Richer learning, deeper thinking. that elevates classroom quality and builds the critical rigour students carry into their careers.
  • Integrity & standards: Detect AI‑generated content, plagiarism, bias and
invented citations to uphold academic quality.
